Update Your Knowledge and Skills at the Annual SIM Materials Forum

Mark your calendar! The Materials Forum, an annual event dedicated to materials process research and innovation, is coming back on May 24th at the Antwerp Expo. The ninth edition of this half-day forum aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and skills, and to provide updates on ongoing SIM projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with the materials community in Flanders and beyond.

The event promises to be a platform for discovering material innovations. The event will start off with two keynote speaches, starting with Geert Noels and Kristof Eggermont from Econopolis, with their ‘Climate Shock’, focussing on solutions for government, companies & citizens in Belgium. This will be followed by a second keynote speech, by Kamila Slupek from Eurometaux, who will zoom in more into the challenges for metals for the energy transition, including the link to the Critical Material Act.

Following the keynotes, the event will host another 10 experts who will share their vision and latest innovations in two thematic areas, namely Climate & Energy and Digitalisation for Sustainability. For each track of lectures, visitors will be able to choose from at least three speakers. The event will also feature a materials market where attendees can discover the latest innovations and a poster session where science & engineering can be discussed.

This unique event is brought to you by Strategic Initiative Materials, or SIM for short. SIM is a virtual research center founded in 2009 by the Flemish materials industry and universities. Their mission is to keep Flanders at the forefront of materials innovation. With the SIM Materials Forum, they want to keep you in the loop on their work and the latest developments in the materials sector.

The event will take place during Advanced Engineering, a trade fair focused on the creation and production of innovative products. This makes the SIM Materials Forum an even more interesting platform for companies that contribute to the production of innovative products, technologies and electronics.
