TITLE: The role of simulation in Materials Engineering: from Material Design, over Manufacturing process simulation to part scale performance prediction.

Today, material design, manufacturing and product design are separate worlds, interacting with each other by means of data sheets and requirement documents. With support of SIM and VLAIO, Siemens Industry Software has the ambition to bring together these worlds, uniting them by a common digital thread, enabling the material itself to become a design variable. This presentation will illustrate how such a unified approach can lead to innovative solutions, showcasing examples from different SIM research projects.
